Preston North End has fired head coach Paul Heckingbottom. The club confirmed his departure on Sunday. Preston finds itself in the bottom three of the Championship after losing six of its first seven games in the current league schedule. Heckingbottom was appointed at Preston last year. He once led Sheffield United. The team will be guided by a Premier League cult hero in the interim role. The decision comes after a poor start to the campaign.
