Nine crew members from China were arrested for illegal fishing in waters near Yeonpyeong Island.

The coast guard were given a special award for their work. They had chased off illegal Chinese crab boats there.

In a separate incident, a prawn fisher from West Vancouver was fined $5,000. The fine was imposed because he dropped traps near glass sponge reefs.

Authorities say there will be no fishing for coho salmon in Lake Washington. The restriction covers anglers on that water body.

The Wuchang fish industry is casting a wider net too.
